Franziska has a passion for infection modeling and studies the coordination of host-parasite interactions the malaria parasites in the liver.
About Franziska Hildebrandt
Born and raised in Munich, Germany, Franzi got both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Biology from the Ludwig-Maximilian University and joined us here in Stockholm in 2018. For her Master’s she studied the cellular communication between entomopathogenic bacteria (Photorhabdus luminescens), their nematode symbionts as well as their insect hosts, in the group of Prof. Ralf Heermann.
Her expertise reaches from molecular techniques around RNA, DNA, protein, to various transcriptomics methods like scRNA-seq, Spatial Transcriptomics and LCM-seq to computational analysis of sequencing data mainly using R and in part, python programming languages. Her current work is focused on investigating spatio-temporal differences in transcription during an ongoing infection in mouse liver.
Franzi’s second passion in life is dance, from classical ballet to modern and contemporary dance, she uses movement to tell a story.
