Master's student

Alissa is a master’s student from Stockholm University.

As part of the internship at the Ankarklev lab, Alissa will be working with the transmission team and contribute to our research about Plasmodium gametocytogenesis.

About Alissa Oste

Alissa completed her Bachelor’s degree in Biosciences at Heidelberg University in Germany. During her Bachelor’s thesis there, she worked in the lab of Dr. Markus Ganter, analyzing aspects of asynchronous nuclear replication in the asexual Plasmodium falciparum blood stage.

She is now pursuing a Master’s degree in Microbiology at Stockholm University and conducting her thesis work in the Ankarklev lab. Here, she is joining the transmission team, focussing on the regulation of P. falciparum gametocytogenesis.

Outside the lab, Alissa enjoys hiking, reading, playing boardgames with friends, and going to metal concerts.
